PLANBET Rules and Policies in New Zealand
The rules behind PLANBET in New Zealand — terms and conditions, verification and KYC, anti-money laundering, dispute resolution, privacy, cookies and the responsible gaming tools, gathered in one place.
This page is a plain-language summary, not legal advice. What binds is always the terms that apply inside the account itself, together with the law where you live. Work out where you stand before you deposit.
About this site
This site describes PLANBET for readers in New Zealand: the sportsbook, the casino, the bonus offers and the app. It is an independent information site. It takes no bets, holds no accounts, keeps no money and processes no withdrawals — all of that happens at the operator itself, under the operator's own terms.
The editorial text on this site is by Theo Marsh, who tested PLANBET across sports and esports, pre-match and live, on desktop and mobile, with no commercial relationship to the operator. Where this site quotes figures — wagering requirements, caps, windows, coefficients — those are the figures that applied at the time of testing. Offers get adjusted, and the operator's live site is always the version that counts.
Terms and Conditions
Opening an account means accepting the operator's terms. The points that genuinely matter day to day are few and simple:
- Age. Eighteen and over across New Zealand. An account opened for someone underage is closed, and winnings from it are not paid out.
- One account per person. One account per person, household, address, device and payment method. Second accounts are merged or closed.
- Correct details. Name, date of birth, address and country of residence have to be entered exactly as they read on the document you will later verify with. Mismatches are the most common cause of a delayed first withdrawal.
- Your money, your account. You deposit with a payment method in your own name, and you are paid back to the same one.
- Where you stand. New Zealand licenses domestic betting through its own regime, with online sports betting run at home by a single domestic operator, so an international operator reaches New Zealand players from beyond that arrangement rather than on a New Zealand permit. A handful of territories are blocked outright, and some let you in while keeping residents out of the promotions. Seeing an offer is not the same as being cleared to claim it.
- Fair use. Collusion, automation, exploiting obvious pricing errors and opening accounts purely to harvest bonuses are all prohibited and lead to the affected bets being voided.
The operator can change the terms. Material changes are announced inside the account; carrying on playing afterwards accepts the new version.
Betting rules and settlement
A bet stands at the price accepted at the moment it was confirmed. On live markets that price can move between the tap and the confirmation — which is exactly why the quick-bet route, which drops the confirmation step, exists.
- Suspended markets. Prices suspend briefly whenever the match state shifts. Bets arriving in that moment are rejected rather than accepted at a stale price.
- Cancelled and postponed events. If an event does not take place inside the set window, the selection is voided and the stake returned. Inside an accumulator, a voided leg runs on at odds of 1.00.
- Obvious errors. Clearly mispriced markets, misassigned participants and bets on an outcome already known are voided.
- Settlement. Bets settle on the official result. Later corrections by the competition organiser can lead to a resettlement.
- Cash-out. A cash-out is an offer at that moment, not a guarantee. It can be unavailable while a market is suspended.
General bonus terms
A bonus is a trade, not a present: bonus funds are credited, and in exchange the wagering is met before they turn into money you can withdraw. The general rules that apply to every promotion are set out at length on the Bonus page. The short version:
- Opt in before depositing. The bonus track — sport or casino — is chosen in the account settings before you deposit. A deposit made before opting in does not attach the offer.
- Complete profile. Most offers want a completed profile and an activated phone number.
- Wagering, window, stake cap. Every offer states how many times the bonus is played through, how long there is to do it, and how much can go on per line.
- Eligible games. Slots do the heavy lifting toward clearing a casino bonus; table and live dealer play generally sits outside it.
- Deposit method. Nearly every promotion runs on non-crypto deposits.
- Sequence. Every welcome deposit bonus has to be wagered before the following one credits. Bonuses do not stack.
Bonus abuse — covered stakes on opposing outcomes purely to clear a wagering requirement, say, or several accounts on the same offer — voids the bonus and any winnings it produced. Your own deposited funds are untouched.
Verification and KYC
Verification arrives with the first withdrawal rather than at sign-up. Worth keeping to hand: photo ID, a proof of address and, occasionally, a payment confirmation. With the documents ready it is a formality of minutes; left until cash-out day it becomes the reason the money is slower than it had to be.
- Photo ID. Identity card, passport or driving licence, valid and fully legible.
- Proof of address. Usually a utility bill or a bank statement from the last few months, carrying the same name and address as the account.
- Proof of payment. On cards, the first six and last four digits; everything else may be covered.
- Re-checks. Re-verification can be asked for when details change, a new payment method is added, or an unusually large withdrawal comes up.
The name on the account has to match the document character for character. One wrong middle name is how a same-day payout stretches into a three-day wait.
Payment rules
Deposits span cards, e-wallets, bank transfer, instant local methods and a wide crypto lineup. Cards and e-wallets clear immediately. The account currency is fixed at sign-up and cannot be changed; it decides what the cashier displays.
| Rule | What it means |
|---|---|
| Closed loop | Withdrawals go back, wherever possible, to the same payment method the deposit came from. |
| Name match | The payment method has to be in the account holder's name. Third-party payments are not accepted. |
| Speed out | Crypto and e-wallets clear quickest, frequently same-day once verification is through. Cards lag because of the payment rails beneath them. |
| Crypto and bonuses | Nearly every promotion is off for cryptocurrency accounts. Anyone who wants the offers deposits another way. |
| Wagering before withdrawal | An open wagering requirement can hold up a withdrawal until it is met or the bonus expires. |
| Dormant accounts | Accounts left unused for a long time can be paused; the balance stays the holder's. |
Anti-money laundering
The operator is obliged to check where funds come from and what they are used for. Day to day this touches very few accounts, and when it happens it is routine rather than an accusation.
- Where a pattern stands out, proof of source of funds can be requested — a payslip, a bank statement or an equivalent document.
- Deposits withdrawn again without meaningful play can be reviewed before they are released.
- Accounts may not be used to move money between people.
- Until a review closes, an account can be temporarily restricted. Confirmed balances are kept either way.
Complaints and dispute resolution
The path is short and works best in this order:
- Live chat. The front-line channel is a multilingual live chat, open around the clock, and for the vast majority of questions it is the right tool.
- Email to support, when the case needs a paper trail or an attachment — a disputed settlement, say, or a payment that has to be escalated.
- A formal complaint to the operator, with account number, date, slip or transaction number and a brief description. A written reply is the starting point for anything further.
- External body. If it stays unresolved, the route to the dispute-resolution body of the licence the operator works under remains open.
Keep the evidence to hand: slip numbers, timestamps and screenshots shorten any review considerably.
Risk notice
Betting and casino play are entertainment, and entertainment costs money. Every casino game carries a house edge, and every price carries a margin. Over time the maths favours the provider — single sessions swing both ways, extended play drifts toward the edge. It is never a dependable way to earn money, and going after a loss is the fastest route from a rough night to a genuine problem.
Privacy
An account collects the data it needs: name, date of birth, contact details, country of residence, payment details, verification documents, and technical data such as device and connection information.
- Purpose. Running the account, processing payments, verification, fraud and money-laundering prevention, customer support and — where consented to — offers.
- Sharing. With payment providers, verification services and supervisory bodies, as far as necessary. No selling of data.
- Retention. As long as the account exists, and beyond that for as long as statutory retention requires.
- Your rights. Access, correction, erasure within the retention periods, restriction of processing, portability and objection to marketing. Requests go through support.
- Security. The connection is encrypted, on mobile in the same way as on desktop.
This information site itself processes no account data and takes no registrations.
Cookie policy
Cookies are small text files a site leaves in the browser. They are used here in three groups:
| Type | What for | Can be declined |
|---|---|---|
| Necessary | Basic site functions, session, security and your choices in the calculators on these pages. | No |
| Statistics | Anonymous audience measurement: which sections get read and where readers drop off. | Yes |
| Marketing | Attribution of clicks on partner links, so a referral is credited to the right partner. | Yes |
Cookies can be deleted or blocked at any time in the browser settings. Block the necessary ones and parts of the site stop working as intended.
Responsible Gaming
A phone puts betting a single tap away, and that convenience is worth being deliberate about. The tools that keep play healthy all sit in the same account settings on mobile as on desktop and behave identically. Set a deposit limit the day you open the account rather than the day you wish you had.
A few signs worth a look: playing longer than you meant to, chasing a loss, staking money meant for something else, hiding the play from people close to you, or playing to escape a bad mood. If your gambling has stopped doing you any good — or someone else's has — free and confidential help is available in New Zealand, at no cost and with no obligation. Support is available through the Gambling Helpline New Zealand on 0800 654 655, free and open around the clock. Eighteen and over across New Zealand.
Contact
For anything to do with your account, a payment, a settlement or a bonus, the operator is the right address, not this site. The front-line channel is a multilingual live chat, open around the clock; email covers anything needing a paper trail or an attachment. The everyday ground of verification, payments and account settings is handled well enough on the help pages that plenty of questions answer themselves before you open a chat window.
